HJ431 flux is a fused-type high manganese-high silicon-low fluoride flux, primarily used for submerged arc welding of important structures such as ships, pressure vessels, and boilers.
HL-HJ431 Submerged Arc Welding Flux
Process Performance Application Range: Can weld low carbon steel and low alloy steel (such as 16Mn, 15MnV), and can also be used for electroslag welding and copper welding. Insensitive to slight rust in the welding area; good hot crack resistance and certain moisture resistance.
Operating Characteristics: Suitable for both AC and DC, with welding wire connected to positive electrode for DC welding, stable arc, wide voltage adjustment range (35-45V), easy arc starting without requiring arc striking ball.
Slag Removal and Formation: Easy slag removal, aesthetically pleasing weld formation, uniform weld beads without tendency to produce porosity or slag inclusions.
Mechanical Properties Small fluctuation in weld metal composition, good rust resistance, but weak deoxidation ability and not easy to add alloying agents.
